Exciting Changes to Better Serve You

We are excited to let you know about some changes we are making here at Homeward! In an economic climate where costs continue to rise, we want to continue to keep costs low for you while increasing our hours of availability AND giving more of our members across the state easier access to meet with us in person. We shared our idea with a sampling of our members from a variety of the cities we serve across South Carolina, and the feedback was 100% supportive, so we have made this change official!

Here’s the news!

Beginning January 1, our office will be available for the same phone and email access it has always had . . . in fact, our availability to be reached this way will increase during the busier times of the year! However, our MAILING address and in-person access will change. Instead of keeping the office at the Alice Drive location, we will use a P.O. Box. With the changes we are making, we will still be able to meet with our members face-to-face, but we will do so mostly by appointment and will take walk-ins one day per week at a new location. We will have 15-minute appointment slots available at no charge if you want to turn in applications or paperwork, rent or return curriculum, or need to ask some questions and want to meet with us. We will also continue to offer our longer one-on-one consultation appointments at the same price we have always provided. This will allow us to schedule appointment opportunities here in Sumter, PLUS in other cities across the state where we have members so it’s easier for you to meet with us! More details will be posted soon on our Facebook page and website. 

How will this change affect you as a member?

  • If you need to call us – No change! Our phone number is staying the same.
  • If you need to email us – No change! Our email address is staying the same.
  • If you need to send something by mail? Use our NEW address:

  • If you need to meet in person or rent books – Call or email us and we’ll schedule an appointment. We will schedule local appointments here in Sumter as well as appointments in other locations where we have clusters of member families including Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Columbia, Rock Hill, Greenville, and more!
  • If you still want walk-in access – We will have opportunities for you to see us without an appointment. For specific details on walk-in days, times, and locations, please visit our website.

In short, all of the services we offer to our membership will still be available. We are keeping costs low for you by switching from costly office space in town to a P.O. Box address that allows us, to bring HEA closer to YOU (while still allowing for some walk-ins).
